Dr. Sara Beaver opened BEC’s dry eye spa and advanced dry eye clinic in January 2023 with the goal of giving her patients real relief from dry eye disease.
Dr. Beaver is on a mission to bring better care and treatment options for dry eye disease to the Blythewood community.
At your initial consultation, we use the latest diagnostic technology to determine the type of dry eye disease our patients have, which is impacted by many factors. We are able to devise a targeted treatment plan that is unique for each patient.

OptiLight is a light-based treatment that uses precise, intense broad spectrum light to address signs of dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). MGD is the most common cause of dry eye disease, accounting for about 86% of cases. The treatment addresses inflammation, which is one of the key underlying factors in MGD. OptiLight was specifically developed to reach the delicate contours of the treated area safely, effectively, and gently using the OPT™ technology.

The TearCare® System is intended for the application of localized heat therapy in adult patients with evaporative dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), when used in conjunction with manual expression of the meibomian glands.

The OCULUS Keratograph® 5M helps accurately diagnose the type of Dry Eye Disease to determine a targeted treatment approach based on your results. If treatment is necessary, the Keratograph® 5M can compare the before and after treatment results to evaluate the success of the treatment.
